In the Press
We are truly grateful for the recognition our work has received over the years. From leading design magazines to prestigious interior publications, LF Trading has been featured in numerous outlets that celebrate craftsmanship, timeless design, and the beauty of natural fabrics.
Each publication is an honor, affirming our passion for creating authentic, elegant, and enduring linens. Being included in such inspiring company encourages us to continue pursuing excellence, while staying true to our Belgian heritage and family values.
Our Showroom: A Sustainable Choice, Closer to Home
At LF Trading, we consciously chose a different path. While most high‑end showrooms open their doors in Brussels, Antwerp, or Ghent, we decided to connect our showroom to the private home of our CEO, **Michèle Lievens**, in Koekelare.
It’s an atypical choice — and that’s exactly what makes it so powerful. This decision is sustainable on every level:
* Michèle can be home more often for her children whenever she is not abroad.
* Less commuting means a smaller ecological footprint and more energy for our clients.
* Visitors receive a total experience: they are **cared for 300%** and can even stay overnight in our two linen studios.
This way, clients truly experience what it means to live in a linen environment. It creates a warmer bond, more joy, and exactly what Michèle Lievens stands for: **quality over quantity**.
Surrounded by the flax fields in season, the location is also perfect for a unique journey: from **flax plant to fabric**. The experience becomes not only informative but also inspiring and tangible.
Our showroom is entirely yours. We regularly welcome architecture teams who organize **teambuildings** here, in a setting where authenticity, nature, and craftsmanship come together.
Welcome to a showroom that is more than a place: it’s an experience.

Timeless Elegance in Natural Fabrics
At LF Trading, we believe that true beauty lies in simplicity and authenticity. As a Belgian family-run company, we take pride in offering natural fabrics and timeless linens that embody both elegance and comfort.

Since taking over the legacy of Filip & Dorine Lievens, Michèle Lievens has continued the family tradition with passion and dedication. In November 2020, our commitment to excellence was honored with the prestigious title of Belgian Royal Warrant Holder.

In 2023, our craftsmanship and unique collections were proudly featured in Beta Plus’ World’s Best Of — a recognition that celebrates our place among the finest in design and interiors.

Working hand in hand with renowned Belgian mills, we curate collections that celebrate the finest natural yarns, unique colors, and delicate washed finishings. Each year, we present a carefully crafted selection that is both elegant and enduring, designed to bring warmth and refinement into every home and project.

West Flemish entrepreneur sparks attention in Paris with flashmobs.
On Saturday, Michèle Lievens, founder and CEO of LF Trading, brought a creative energy to the streets of Paris with a series of three flashmobs — including one in front of the Louvre.

The initiative was a call to action: to raise awareness about the growing pressure on small, creative businesses in today’s fast-paced industry.
“We’re constantly expected to do more, launch faster, and endlessly reinvent,” she noted. “But in that rat race, I refuse to keep running.”
CEO Michèle Lievens adds:
“The reason behind these flashmobs was captured beautifully in the article — and I truly felt that creativity was rewarded with genuine leads.
The result of the flashmob was fantastic, but what mattered most was this: we had fun, we sparked joy, and we brought back creativity — the very thing that once defined the spirit of trade fairs, yet today is too often pushed aside by big budgets and long arms.”

LF Trading continues to produce all its fabrics exclusively in Belgian weaving mills, staying loyal to a short-chain, local approach.
“We know this comes with challenges — rising labour costs, increasing raw material prices — and it makes competing with less sustainable foreign production tough. But we’re proud to accept smaller margins if it means we can keep promoting Belgian craftsmanship. That’s the kind of story we want to keep telling.”
The message? There’s still space — and a real need — for independent voices, local makers and original ideas in today’s textile world.

Taking Over in Turbulent Times – The 2020 Transition of LF Trading

Just before the world shut down due to COVID-19, Michèle Lievens took a bold step: she officially took over her family’s textile company, LF Trading. After years of working in the business and pushing for a takeover, her parents finally gave their blessing in early 2020 — mere weeks before the pandemic began.

What followed were intense months of navigating lockdowns, managing a drastic drop in sales, and reorganising the business structure to keep things running with limited resources. Through it all, Michèle’s resilience stood out. By August that same year, she had restored the company to profitability — and proved the transition had been the right move.
CEO Michèle Lievens
“The takeover went fairly smoothly, but it did bring stress. Our family is very close, and we were determined to keep it that way. But how do you separate business from family in a family business? That was a huge challenge — and I’m so glad I stayed driven. You really do need that drive if you're the only one of three siblings continuing the legacy.” 😊
LF Trading: A Year of Reinvention and Resilience

2024 was nothing short of a whirlwind year for LF Trading. After taking the bold decision to continue solo, CEO Michèle Lievens restructured the entire company, streamlined operations, and said goodbye to a full team of employees. The transition wasn’t easy, but it led to a powerful wave of growth and innovation.

LF Trading, known for its exclusive, sustainable interior fabrics, was already a supplier to the Belgian royal court. With Michèle at the helm since 2020, the company embraced a new era of focus and efficiency, supported by smart digital systems and a deeply personal hands-on approach.

CEO MICHELE LIEVENS:
“This was one of the most challenging periods in my career. My body clearly signaled that it couldn’t go on: I suffered a severe lung infection and heart issues as a result of the pressure. Still, I pushed through because I truly believed in the future of this company. Today, LF Trading is more efficient than ever. IT became my best friend, we implemented solid systems, and yes—working in the warehouse also helped me lose a few kilos! I gained even more respect for the people who used to do it full-time."
LF Trading continues to export to top-tier architects and interior designers worldwide, upholding its commitment to local Belgian production, sustainability, and authentic craftsmanship.

Royal Recognition for LF Trading — Continuing a Family Legacy
In 2022, Michèle Lievens received the official Royal Warrant, naming LF Trading an official supplier to the Belgian royal family — a title previously held by her parents under their company LF Selection. The handover of the certificate by Queen Mathilde marked a symbolic moment, honouring both continuity and renewal.

Although the title had already been granted a year and a half earlier, the ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic. Now officially recognised, LF Trading joins a rare circle of Belgian brands known for their craftsmanship, quality, and heritage.

CEO Michèle Lievens
“It’s a tremendous honour to follow in my father’s footsteps. For a brief moment, we were both Royal Warrant holders — a true first in history. This recognition means a lot to me, because it reflects values I deeply believe in: integrity, quality and mutual respect.
The group of warrant holders is more than just a title — it’s a community of like-minded entrepreneurs. The support, loyalty, and genuine motivation I’ve found there is rare. I’m proud to be part of that.”

Celebrating True Craftsmanship and Meaningful Partnerships

Some stories reflect more than just success — they reveal shared values. This article is one of the most cherished at LF Trading. It highlights our collaboration with fellow royal warrant holder Anja, who insisted on using our Belgian linen fabrics in her beautiful B&B.

CEO MICHELE LIEVENS:
“This is one of the most heartfelt articles for me. Anja stood firm in her choice to use our linen fabrics in her space — a gesture of trust and shared belief in quality. For me, this is what sustainable partnerships are all about: mutual respect, integrity, and a love for honest materials.”

Anja’s exquisite porcelain work was even integrated into our own creative process. We crafted porcelain pins, imprinted with my fingerprint, to hold fabrics on our mood boards — a fusion of tactility and identity.
“Choosing porcelain means embracing the beauty of imperfection — just like linen. That’s exactly what we stand for at LF Trading.”
